¡Este hombre despedia cohetes de la mano, loco!

Una experiencia española

En la mañana del martes pasado, me despierte para oír estallar cohetes. Fui asustado y pide a mi madre de Oviedo, “¿Que es ese ruido? ¿Las bombas?”. Me Dijo, “Hoy es un día especial. ¡Es Martes de Campo!” Martes de campo es una fiesta en la que todas las personas van al parque y comen bollos con chorizos. Había muchas personas en el parque. Andaba en el parque cuando viste lo que causaba el ruido de “las bombas”. ¡Había un hombre que llevaba un guante para tirar cohetes desde su mano! Yo no lo podría creer. Otro hombre lo entregaría un cohete, encendería la mecha, y el cohete voló. Inmediatamente después repitieron el proceso para 15 o 20 cohetes. El fue un hombre valiente. Mas tarde dispararon muchos mas cohetes. Yo no podría ver el final espectacular, pero yo lo podría oír. Me gusta los cohetes, pero no es un manera buena a despertarse.

I am very much looking forward to the entire study abroad experience. I really have no idea what Spain will be like. I have been to parts of Europe before so I have an idea, but no real clue about culture, climate, or terrain. I’m sure it will be a nice place and it is summer so it can’t be bad. I have a feeling that the hardest part for me will be initially meeting and interacting with my host family. Not knowing what to expect always make me nervous but as soon as I’m there doing it, I know I’ll be fine. I’m confidant that no matter how well I learn Spanish, this immersion will be the best way to do it. So hopefully I’ll learn it better this time then ever before! I’m very excited to be able to go on this abroad and I am going to make it a point to enjoy myself.
